About This Journal
Established in 2024, the Journal of African Community and Development (JACAD) is a peer-reviewed, open-access (print-on-demand) journal that welcomes submissions of original, previously unpublished manuscripts engaging all fields and sub-fields of history, art, literature, language, culture, sociology, anthropology, and humanities to promote a better understanding of past and contemporary community development at the local, state, national, and continental levels in Africa.
JACAD is committed to publishing manuscripts that analyze African communities’ social, economic, cultural, and political transformations during the pre-colonial, colonial, and post-colonial periods.
Published twice yearly by the Patience and Claudius Anyanwu Foundation, JACAD provides the needed platform for scholars and graduate students to showcase their original research, shedding light on the misconceived, mistaken, and missing narratives about African communities and thus provides a holistic appreciation of the African experience.
